Hey, all. Happy Pride Month! We’re here with an episode that we do think you’ll enjoy. We run with a few fun things this episode and feel like you’ll have a good time with this entry of The Pinball Podcast. And if you don’t like it, well, there’s always next time (or maybe the time after that).
Remember to send your contest entries to pinballpodcast [at] gmail.com to win our fun little prize pack.
Hi, everyone. We’re back for episode 141. We talk a bit about Rush, Godzilla, INDISC, Jack Danger, Slippery Douglas, and touch on the upcoming TPF show.
We also give our thoughts on the passing of Lyman Sheats, who we lost recently and far too soon. We would love to hear about your favorite memories of Lyman if you have any, what games he worked on are your favorites, or any love you have to share about Lyman and his contributions to the pinball hobby and community.
If you have access to a Monster Bash, you should DEFINITELY play through the Lyman’s Lament hidden mode. Below are the instructions for starting the mode.
Start a new game.
Don’t launch the ball quite yet.
Flip both flippers at once 1 time.
Press the left flipper 11 times.
Press the right flipper 1 time.
Press the left flipper 5 times.
Press the right flipper 1 time.
Press the left flipper 6 times.
Press the right flipper 1 time.
If you hear Lyman say,”Totally!” you did it correctly.
Start the mode by shooting the scoop.
To all those who are feeling loss over Lyman’s passing, especially to those close to him, we offer up our condolences. Lyman was a true pioneer in pinball, a genuinely good person, and a genius that accomplished many things professionally and personally. Donations are being accepted in Lyman’s name for NAMI (https://nami.org) as a way to remember him by showing support for those who struggle with mental health conditions and challenges.
Apparently today is hashtag International Podcast Day or something. Well, we’re here to celebrate by dropping another episode. In episode 140, Jessica talks with Rachel from the Electric Bat Arcade. Electric Bat is located in Tempe, Arizona and it’s truly one of the best places to play in the Western United States. Take a listen to Jess and Rachel talk pinball and see if we finally find an answer to how many pinballs fit inside that bumper car (spoiler: we won’t).
Wait, what?! Jeff and Jessica are back together again to discuss what’s been going on recently in pinball. Turns out, plenty has happened. This is a return to regularly scheduled releases for The Pinball Podcast and we discuss new things to come. We touch on Deeproot, Spinal Tap, recent-ish releases, and what we’ve been up to and what we’ve got planned. Come rejoin us!
After taking a little break to cope with some heavy life stuff (job changes, new business launches, travel, death of friends, brushes with suicidal urges, medical care, financial distress, family obligations, and all sorts of other joyful things), we’re back on the mics and we have a new show for you.
Joe Zenkus has a new Pinball Popcorn for us, but we’re saving it for the next show, which will be a lot more lighthearted than this one. Thanks, Joe, we’re excited to roll that one out!
Look forward to talk on this episode of NWPAS, RMPS, Nitro Pinball, the end of the Evel travels, Chris Franchi, and quite a bit more!
Jessica is back from Australia after competing in the ACS and a few other events. Amid all the excitement, Jeff and Jessica realized that they did a very bad job planning for upcoming pinball shows and have to pay for that mistake….literally pay for it.
It’s our first episode of 2019 and we have some fun stuff going on. Jessica is heading back to Australia to compete in the ACS and try to become the Australian pinball champion. At worst, we just want her to end up as the highest finishing podcaster. We also discuss The Munsters, both of us having had a chance to get good time on the game.
If you want to support Jessica’s trip to Australia by buying some Belles and Chimes swag, reach out and we’ll be happy to get you hooked up. We’ll get back to a more regular schedule soon. Thanks for listening!
Sorry for the lame episode title, but a little negative SEO is about all I can do here…
Anyway, Jessica is down in Australia, but that doesn’t stop us from punching out another episode. We recap the Northwest and Denver shows, talk about some upcoming events, vent about the awful FedEx Freight ham handed delivery, and discuss other goings on in pinball. Oh, and face #4 is finally officially announced for Mount Plungemore.
